• Babes, booze and a bullet. A story from my other life.
Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2:19PM
Since starting this blog I have tried to keep what I write about here seperate from what I do in my day job. But today is a Big Day from my other life so I'm going to break my rule.
As long time readers of this blog know, I lost my job in advertising after suffering a severe traumatic brain injury in early 2006. In January of this year I returned to full-time work and the first TV commercial I've contributed to in over six years is airing tonight on the season finale of Mad Men. The show airs at 10:00 PM Pacific Time, 9:00 PM central so I hope you can catch it.
Not to brag, the spot is pretty cool and involves a blonde, a brunette, a bachelor (not), booze and a bullet. The company is Turn, which does mystical stuff to place online ads fast, hence the bullet. If you see the spot, I'd love to read your reactions in the comments.
Here's some nice press: New York Times, SF Chronicle, Adrants

Awesome! I'm so proud of you, and happy to have you as a friend for so long.......
We watched the TV show and saw the add! Very cool, clever!
slip of the finger-I meant "ad"
Thanks for the kudos. Felt good to make an ad again. And thank you all for the Likes!
Nice one Jeff!
Shame your ECD chose to say it "elevated" everything in Mad Men - kind of biting the hand that is clearly feeding you in this case. But then as we all know ECDs can get carried away sometimes!
MOAR POSTS PLS
:)
Hope you're well, Jeff.
Nicholas, thanks for the encouragement. I'm really struggling to keep my head above water these days, but should be posting again soon. Glad you're still at it. Always like what you write!
